Literary and societal talk round in cinema Danubius with the editors of the journal .týždeň (week) Juraj Kušnierik and Josef Majchrák and their guests Tomáš Janovic (writer), Miroslav Marcelli (philosopher), Leo Štefankovič (film maker) and Karol Frühauf

AquaPhone a Word and Music Performance over the Danube with the musicians Alfred Zimmerlin (cello) and Markus Eichenberger (clarinet); Eva Uzsák and Karol Frühauf read the Slovakian text from Tomáš Janovic also in translation by Karol Frühauf (German) and Juraj Himmler (Hungarian).
The programme opened with the Monteverdi Choir from Esztergom directed by Zoltán Hunyadi singing from the Hungarian banks and from the Slovakian banks the Stilla Pectus Choir from Štúrovo with director Katalin Papp.
The event was supported by the town Štúrovo and under the auspices of the Swiss Embassy Bratislava

Installation and Performance by Tiziana Bertoncini in the bridge guard residency
Tiziana built from objects that Danube brought the installation "Panta Rhei – Danube Time Spaces". Children form the fourth class verbalised their associations with Danube and have been animated by Tiziana to sing differently as they are used to. Tiziana recorded their voices by and mixed them with sounds of Danube. A new mysterious language emerged.
In the music performance "SOSIA – the trip in the border zone between "I" and "Others" for a violin / person and space the spectators become witnesses (voyeurs) of presence traces of the other, of the suspected but not recognised. The way leads form the loneliness through conquering the individual "I" to the discovery of the "other" as part of oneself.

Miniatures form György Kurtág, John Cage, Salvatore Sciarrino and improvisation by Tiziana Bertoncini, violin accompanied by Thomas Lehn (Cologne), piano.

 

2007, December 21

Handkerchief action on the bridge
Sabina Kaeser stitched in the residence 300 handkerchiefs with a Slovak and Hungarian first name each. The very first open border day these 300 handkerchiefs were sticked to the bridge to remind on waving for good-bye and welcome. Couple of days later all handkerchiefs found their destination.

Thomas J. Hauck gives away and signs the fairy tale book "Mister Blimel, the screw inspector" on the bridge.

From sunrise to sundown did Thomas J. Hauck and Sabina Kaeser print with flour the poem by Attila József "At Danube" on the balustrade of the Mária Valéria bridge.

Open House at the residence with an exhibition of drawings and photographs, a red wire installation in the courtyard of the residence, accordion music and song by Sabina Kaeser and reading of the fairy tale "Mister Blimel, the screw inspector" written by Thomas J. Hauck in Štúrovo.
